There is only one file type that uses the .MCDX extension:
Mathcad Prime Document
Document created by Mathcad Prime, a program used for engineering calculations; can contain algorithms, functions, macros, symbols, plots, annotations, and other mathematical constructs; also supports free-form text as well as headers and footers for multi-page information; often used for storing complex engineering calculations.
NOTE: Mathcad Prime is the successor to Mathcad. While Mathcad Prime uses the MCDX format, Mathcad uses the .MCD format. To convert an MCD file to an MCDX file, use the Mathcad Prime 2.0 XMCD, MCD Converter program included with Mathcad Prime, which is accessible from the Windows Start menu or from the Input/Output ribbon bar tab in Mathcad Prime.
