There is only one file type that uses the .OFT extension:
Outlook File Template
An OFT file is an email template created by Microsoft Outlook, a popular email client for Windows. It contains an email message, which may include a message and pre-formatted layout that can be used for creating custom messages with a similar appearance. OFT files may also be saved as an Outlook "form," which includes a script that runs when the file is opened.
Microsoft developed the Outlook File Template (OFT) format to allow Outlook users to save message content and designs in a reusable format. This is especially helpful in business contexts when sending individually customized emails to different recipients with a similar layout.
NOTE: To create an OFT file with Microsoft Outlook, first open and edit a new message, select, click "Save as Type:" and select "Outlook Template (*.oft)."
You can open OFT files with Microsoft Outlook. To open an OFT file with Outlook, select thedropdown arrow, and click . Select the "Look In" dropdown menu and choose "Standard Templates" to open an OFT template packaged with Outlook. Or, select "User Templates in File System" to choose a custom OFT template you created.
