There are 2 file types use the .OTA file extension:
1. OTA Bitmap Image
Over The Air (OTA) image used for sending pictures on Nokia and Siemens mobile phones; contains a monochrome bitmap image holding up to a maximum of 255x255 pixels; may be stored in a binary format or in a hexadecimal format in a text file.
OTA images are sent as a series of one or more SMS text messages.

2. OTA Ringtone File
An OTA file is an audio file that contains a ringtone for mobile devices such as Android phones. It stores a short audio sample that can be used to replace the standard ringtone when receiving a call. The OTA format is not as commonly used for ringtones as formats such as .M4A.
