There are 8 file types use the .PRO file extension:
- TurboFloorPlan 3D Design File
- TurboIntegrator Process Definition File
- Adobe Proto Design File
- Qt Project File
- ProPresenter Export File
- Professional Home Design Project
- KiCad Project
- IDL Source Code File
1. TurboFloorPlan 3D Design File
Design file created by TurboFloorPlan 3D Home & Landscape, a professional application that enables users to design home and landscape layouts; contains a layout of a home property, which includes foundation, floor, electrical, plumbing, roof, HVAC, deck, landscape, and framing details.
The PRO file format is the primary file extension of the TurboFloorPlan 3D Home & Landscape Pro software. It allows you to save and resume your work. The application allows you to import .DXF and .DWG files and Punch! 3D objects into the PRO design. You can also export the PRO file to a DXF or DWG file.

2. TurboIntegrator Process Definition File
A PRO file defines a TurboIntegrator process. TurboIntegrator is a tool used to create automated scripts to perform various data management tasks within the IBM TM1 system. PRO files are often found in the data directory of a TM1 server.
PRO files are one of the definition files used within the IBM Cognos TM1 enterprise planning system, now part of IBM Planning Analytics as of November 2016. TurboIntegrator processes may be created and edited within the Planning Analytics Workspace.

3. Adobe Proto Design File
A PRO file is a website or mobile application mockup created by Adobe Proto, a discontinued Adobe Touch app. It contains one or more webpage or mobile app UI layouts, each of which may include interactive elements. PRO files support CSS, WebKit, and jQuery technologies.
Before developers and UI designers begin developing a website or mobile application, they first create digital mockups of what that website or app will look like. These mockups often include a number of sample screens, as well as navigation elements that allow users to navigate between the screens.
PRO files are website or mobile application mockups created by Adobe Proto, a discontinued UI prototyping app that was available for tablets. PRO files were often uploaded to Adobe Creative Cloud, for use in desktop web design applications like Adobe Dreamweaver. Adobe Proto was replaced by Adobe XD.
If you want to view the website or mobile app mockup a PRO file contains, you can open the file in your web browser. The PRO file will appear as a standard webpage, which you can interact with using the file's interactive elements.
You can also open PRO files in Adobe Dreamweaver (Windows, Mac). This will allow you to edit the mockup your PRO file contains.

4. Qt Project File
Project file created using the Qt software development toolkit (SDK), which allows developers to create cross-platform applications; contains all the information necessary to compile a Qt application with the Qt qmake command.
PRO files include references to project libraries, assets, and source code files, as well as other files such as application resources (.QRC files), project includes (.PRI files), translation sources (.TS files), phrase books (.QPH files), and style sheets (.QSS files).
Qt projects are used for creating applications that run on the Qt framework. They are commonly used for creating mobile applications.
NOTE: Qt SDK was previously developed by Nokia before Digia acquired the software.

8. IDL Source Code File
A PRO file contains Interactive Data Language (IDL), a programming language used for data analysis in scientific fields. It stores functions and procedures in plain text. PRO files are typically created using the IDL development environment application.
You can create a PRO file in IDL by selecting. You can also select to generate a PRO file from GUIBuilder interface definitions. This option is only available in Windows. You can open the file in IDL or another text editor since the programming language is stored in plain text.
IDL is primarily used in scientific areas, such as medical imaging, atmospheric physics, and astronomy. It is used to visualize complex numerical data in order to help scientists and engineers more easily interpret data.
NOTE: IDL is developed by David Stern and ITT Visual Information Solutions.
