There is only one file type that uses the .VSMACROS extension:
Visual Studio Binary Macro Project
Binary version of a macro project created by Visual Studio, a Windows application development tool created by Microsoft; contains a sequence of actions either recorded by the user in capture mode, or manually programmed in a Visual Studio editor; used for automating repetitive tasks needed during software development.
Binary macro projects are also used for developing add-ons that extend the Visual Studio IDE.
