There are 3 file types use the .WPD file extension:
1. WordPerfect Document
A WPD file is a text document created by Corel WordPerfect, a word processor for Windows included with the WordPerfect Office suite. It may contain formatted text, tables, charts, drawn objects, and images.
Document1.wpd - The default name given to a new WPD file by WordPerfect.
You can open WPD files with Corel WordPerfect in Windows. The application is included with the Corel WordPerfect Office suite, along with the Quattro Pro and Presentations programs.
You can also use other programs, such as Microsoft Word or LibreOffice Writer, to open WPD files. However, these applications may not fully support the formatting in the document.

2. 602Text Word Processing Document
Text document created with 602Text, an older word processing program for Windows included with 602PC SUITE; contains formatted text and page layout information; saved in a format designed to be compatible with Microsoft Word.
NOTE: The last version of 602Text was released in 2001. Previous users are encouraged to switch to Kingsoft Office, which includes a similar program called "Kingsoft Writer."

3. ACT! 2 Word Processing Document
Text document format used by version 2 of ACT! contact management software.
NOTE: Sage ACT! became Swiftpage Act! in 2013.
