There are 2 file types use the .XDB file extension:
1. Symantec Virus Database File
Virus database file used by Symantec AntiVirus, an antivirus program; contains updated virus definitions; used to distribute virus definitions over the Internet when new viruses are discovered.
XDB files are commonly downloaded by a Symantec AntiVirus server within a company network and then distributed to client programs as .VDB files.

2. PowerDesigner Database Definition File
Contains information about a PowerDesigner database (.PDM) file; may be the default definition file included with PowerDesigner or a custom file created by the user; required for a PowerDesigner database file to open correctly.
