There is only one file type that uses the .XP2 extension:
Game file used by XPilot NG, the "next generation" version of the older XPilot multiplayer 2D space fighting game; saves the 2D map as a set of polygons, each of which define different obstacles and features of the map.
The XP2 format replaces the older .XP format used by XPilot. XP2 files use XML formatting instead of the unstructured XP format.
