2. Software Overview

Audials One is an application used to find, record, download, and convert movies, music, videos, podcasts, and radio stations. The software combines the capabilities of several different Audials programs including Tunebite, Moviebox, and Radiotracker.

One is a versatile application that provides a large variety of capabilities. You can paste URLs from sources, such as YouTube and Vimeo, into the application to save online videos to various formats including MP4, WEBM, FLV, 3GP, and MP3 or WMV audio. The application enables you to record content from streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Netflix. For music enthusiasts, One allows you to browse and listen to thousands of radio stations and podcasts. You can record audio from these sources as well.

One's universal converter feature is handy because it is a built-in tool which means you don't have to go outside the app for your conversion needs. You can convert a large amount of audio and video file formats, such as AAC, FLAC, MP3, M4A, WAV, WMA, AVI, 3GP, FLV, WEBM, MKV, and MOV. One provides some nice DVD copying capabilities, as you can copy protected and unprotected DVDs legally to playback and archive movies and video on your devices. While its media center doesn't stack up to iTunes or Windows Media Player, it still is a nice complement to One's other features. It allows you to organize your content and even displays album art. If you don't want to use One's media center, no problem, you can export your content to iTunes, cloud storage (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.), your smartphone, and Audials Anywhere, which gives you remote access to your media collection.

One's interface is sleek and colorful, providing a variety of views in the music, streaming, universal converter, and media center and iTunes categories. You can modify the color scheme of the interface to whatever suits your mood and change the percentage of the font size. Audials also provides a free account you can sign in to, which allows you to sync your favorite radio stations on your devices, upload wishlists, receive free support, interact on forums, and use Audials Anywhere.

Audials One is clearly designed for media enthusiasts. It allows you to surf the web for music, videos, podcasts, and radio stations while also enabling you to save music and video from the Internet. You can convert an array of audio and video file formats, as well. The app has a few shortcomings, such as the trickiness of recording content from streaming services, its tendency to be a CPU hog, and its interface is a bit cluttered. If you are an intense multimedia enthusiast, you will most likely be able to overlook Audials One's flaws as it's a versatile tool with an attractive price tag. However, if you are just looking for a simple media player try Windows Media Player or iTunes.
