2. Software Overview
Native Instruments Kontakt is a professional audio sampling application. It is available as a standalone product but also part of Native Instruments' Komplete suite.
Kontakt provides advanced tools that allow you to edit, loop, and slice sounds and pitch shift in real time. You can time-stretch sounds with Kontakt's Time Machine Pro algorithm, re-shape percussive sounds with the Transient Master effect, and choose from 37 high quality filters to apply to your audio. Kontakt provides a 16 channel bus system which gives you routing options with integrated insert and send effects, while its MIDI file player lets you create instruments that can play loops, grooves, and patterns instead of just single notes.
Kontakt's most impressive feature is its large and diverse library, as it comes with more than 1,000 different instruments, each professionally recorded and processed. Instrument collections include synth, orchestral, choir, band, vintage, and urban beats. You can also expand the library by purchasing and installing "Powered by KONTAKT" instruments or third party instruments from other professional sound design companies and instrument manufacturers.
Kontakt is a professional sampler used in the music and film industry. It provides advanced editing tools, an array of high quality filters, and a huge library of instruments.
